IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING OR CHANGING AN ACCOUNT WITH OLD FORT BANKING COMPANY
Section 326 of the USA PATRIOT Act requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account or changes an existing account. This federal requirement applies to all new customers and current customers. This information is used to assist the United States government in the fight against the funding of terrorism and money-laundering activities.
What this means to you: Old Fort Banking Company will verify the identity of any person seeking to open an account. We will maintain records of the information used to verify the person’s identity including name, address, date of birth and other identifying means.
Effective May 11, 2018 - Financial Institutions will be required to identify and verify the individuals who own or control the bank's legal entity customers (also known as beneficial owners) when opening new accounts (both deposits and loans). Existing legal entity customers will be impacted when they open a new account with us.
